WHS members elected Officers and Directors, then sang along with noted pianist and vocalist, John Root, to a medley of songs from the Gaslight Era, including "Bicyle Built for Two", "My Wild Irish Rose", and Moonlight Bay".

Presented by the Veteran's Oral History Committee

An original video production and live program, including stories, interviews, and archival film from WW II battles, was presented by Kathy Lucero and Brian Ouellette of Plasma Films to honor four Woburn veterans who answered questions at the conclusion of the video.
The program was attended by over 280 people.

2nd Annual Tour of the Olde Burial Ground

Presented by The Living History Committee

Living History Players, Woburn Militia and others provided entertaining theatrical presentations including the appearance of two live oxen at Citizens Park.

Woburn Square in the Postwar Era

From the Farino collection of photographs, Sue Holland and Tom Doyle of the Woburn Public Library narrated a look back at the vibrant Woburn Center of the post WW II era. Many in attendance were able to help identify people in these photographs.
This was a truly wonderful and successful event attended by over 130 people.

Kathy Lucero and Cheryl Heimlich presented a look back at the many family-owned farms in Woburn through photos and stories. Many in the audience were themselves members of these farming families and contributed to the evening's presentation.

and to the First Congregational Church for use of their portable chairs.

Despite being rained out twice, the reenactment of Woburn's role in the early stages of the Revolutionary War was an enormous success with over 500 in attendance.

Preserving and Restoring Our Visual History – Part II

1st Annual Tour of the Olde Burial Ground

Over 300 people attended the first annual tour of the newly renovated and rededicated First Burial Grounds, one of the nation's oldest cemeteries.

Preserving and Restoring Our Visual History – Part I

Members Walt Kearney, Leon Basile, Darlene Wigton and Joe Brown conducted an informative workshop on using modern technology to preserve and restore precious old photographs that might otherwise be lost or destroyed.
The workshop was attended by 42 people.

Local attorney and historian John McElhiney led a guided walking tour of the various Woburn Common monuments, reminding us of the immense sacrifices made by Woburn men and women in times of war.

Civil War author Richard Griffin related several spellbinding accounts of young Woburn men who fought during the War Between the States, some of whom never returned home.
The program was attended by 100 people.

The historic Tocci building, hidden in Central Square, and the history of the world-renowned Gustavino Tile Works, once located in that building, were featured in a video presentation by current building owner John Tocci and Amy West.
The program was attended by 63 people.

First Meeting of the New Woburn Historical Society

President Pro-Tem Cary Scarborough delivered introductory remarks to a group of over 70 people at the very first meeting of the Woburn Historical Society. The group was treated to a tour of the First Congregational Church, which turned out to be the site of many future meetings.
