Come join in the fun of Irish traditions as the Woburn Historical Society presents the Merry Minstrels performing music, songs, and dance inspired by the Emerald Isle in "A Musical Celebration of St Patrick's Day".
Vocals and music performed on accordion, bodhran, flute, fiddle, bass ukelele, concertina, guitar, mandolin, and whistles will include selections spanning the centuries, from traditional Celtic tunes to songs composed in America, inspired by Irish roots. As part of the program, the Merry Minstrels will provide historical background relating to the songs and invite you to sing along with well-known favorites. Members of the Lexington History Museums Dancers will demonstrate lively Ceili dancing, a form of Irish social dance descended from the country dances of centuries past.
Bring family and friends to enjoy some Irish music and dance, and bring your voices! Song sheets will be provided for the Sing-Along.
The program will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2 pm, in the auditorium at the Hurld-Wyman Elementary School, 39 Wyman St, Woburn 01801. Admission is free. Off-street parking is free and the Hurld-Wyman School is handicapped accessible.
